About the program achieving million sheep population in the Zabaykalsky krai

The paper has studied and analyzed the possibility of sheep breeding revival and increase in the sheep livestock to one million heads by 2025 in Zabaykalsky Krai. Such a task is defined by the regional power and the solution of this problem is very important, since sheep farming has been the indigenous, traditional sector of agricultural production for many centuries in the region. This is of great importance for socio-economic development and maintaining the traditional way of life not only in rural areas and in rural economy, but generally for the development of the productive forces of the region. The possible solutions to the mentioned problems are considered and analyzed based on statistical, historical and comparative methods. The study has shown that the solution of this problem in the actually existing conditions today do not allow us to achieve our goal by a certain date, and a more thorough scientific study and adjustment of the time factor to achieve the goal are necessary.
