On the role of the master plan in the integrated development of the territory: environmental and legal aspect

The author examines the role of territorial planning documentation and territory planning documentation in its comprehensive development in the environmental and legal aspect. He concludes that since the master plan provides for long-term urban development activities that have an environmental focus, integrated development of the territory (ITD), implemented over a long period, must necessarily be reflected in it. As an alternative, he proposes to introduce a new type of urban planning documentation, which would take into account the environmental features of the territory and the city’s environmental policy for the long term.
