Background. Unlike functioning pituitary adenomas, which are usually detected quickly due to symptoms of excessive hormonal secretion, detection of inactive pituitary adenomas (IPAs) occurs relatively late. As a result, NAG is usually found as macroadenomas (1–4 cm) or giant adenomas (>4 cm) with a suprasellar extension that tend to invade the cavernous sinus Methodology for revealing the research problem. The study included 44 patients with inactive pituitary macroadenoma who underwent transsphenoidal surgery Research methods included: general clinical, biochemical and instrumental studies, etc. Research results. There was a significant relationship between the size and volume of the preoperative tumor and postoperative production of pituitary hormones. Moreover, preoperative MRI characteristics may predict normal morphological reconstruction of the pituitary gland after pituitary surgery.
