About the role of the concept of "future" in social knowledge

Trying to understand the situation in Russian social knowledge leads to the conclusion, that there is the necessity of a new metanarrative, which has been "abolished" in the last century. For its research and formation the significant changes in the minds of scientists and science organization are required, the scale of these changes are directly proportional to the depth of crisis in our country and in the whole world. We consider the future as one of the variants of this metanarrative, the concept of future is understood as a set of all causal consequences of the present. The article reveals the presence of this concept in key social and philosophical texts, as well as its fundamental relationship with the activities and decision-making. We have formulated and justified the assumption that the concept of "future" can effectively organize the flow of social facts, events, theories, and also take out from them the material for testable hypotheses in the humanities and social sciences.
