This article analyzes the role of science in contemporary society. It explores society's attitude toward scientific knowledge and its role in the relationship between the state and the public. The scientific worldview, within which humanity exists, defines key guidelines and shapes the nature of relationships between individuals and society, as well as between humans and nature. At the same time, situations arise where scientific knowledge is questioned and criticized. A striking example is the COVID-19 pandemic, which sparked intense debates and conflicting opinions within society. This raises issues related to scientific ethics and trust in science.
