The role of principles in the system of methodical bases of the formation of categories in theoretical and historical legal sciences

Introduction: in the scientific article, the author attempts to identify and analyze the methodological foundations of the formation of categories in the theoretical and historical legal sciences, focusing on the characterization of methodological principles as a special kind of methodological foundations for the definition of categories. Materials and Мethods: when writing a scientific article, the author widely used materials published in modern scientific sources and devoted to the study of the formation and classification of the conceptual apparatus in various fields of scientific knowledge. The study of the methodological foundations of the formation of categories in the theoretical and historical legal sciences required the use of dialectical, historical-legal, systematic comparative-legal and other methods of scientific knowledge. The Results of the Study allowed us to identify the main types of contradictions to be overcome in the formation of new theoretical and legal categories in the context of globalization and digital transformation. Findings and Conclusions: In order to develop these issues, the author proposed promising areas of scientific research in the relevant field of scientific knowledge.
