On the role of the prosecutor in pre-trial stages

The article is devoted to the study of the role of the Prosecutor in the pretrial stages of criminal proceedings. The correlation between the function of the Prosecutor in the implementation of criminal prosecution and the function of supervision over the legality of the procedural activities of the preliminary investigation bodies is considered. Study of problematic points concerning the powers of the Prosecutor in exercising oversight in this area. It is concluded that it is necessary to improve the relevant legislation in the direction of more detailed legal regulation of prosecutorial supervision.
