The role of extracurricular activities in the study of a foreign language in universities

The article considers extracurricular work of students as one of the effective ways to increase motivation within the framework of independent work. It is emphasized that the most important feature of extracurricular activities is the recognition of the individuality of students and their age group. During extracurricular activities students acquire skills of pair and group independent work, simultaneously satisfying their age-related communicative needs. To increase the effectiveness of these events, their regular organization by interested and active teachers and students is necessary.
