The role of air pollution by the particulate matter in pathogenesis of the chronic noninfectious diseases

The article presents modern outlooks of relationship between air pollution by particulate matter (PM) and human morbidity and mortality from chronic noninfectious diseases. The results of short- and long-term influence of PM on the pathogenesis of chronic noninfectious diseases depending on size, origin, chemical composition, and concentration in the air are discussed.
