The analysis of Friedrich Schlegel’s speculative judgment shows the ambivalence and dialectics of the romantic irony, as well as the correlation of the objective and the subjective within it. The important role of the romantic irony in subsequent development of philosophic, aesthetic and artistic thought is revealed in the article.
