On the semantic structure of animal lexeme in French

This article is devoted to the study of the semantic processes that take place in the semanteme composition in the formation of certain components of the semantic structure of zoonyms and those features on the basis of which these components are formed. The signs in the form of connotations and symbols attributed to such animals as chien, boeuf, âne, porc, loup, renard, ours, serpent, vipère are systematized.
