On the systemic criteria for the problems of signal representation

The structure of the system criterion of basis selection of spectral decomposition for two-dimensional signals (images) is discussed. This criterion includes the error performance of signal representation and computational cost of calculating the spectrum. Particular attention is paid to the choice of the loss function in the calculation of the risk assessment and computational costs. Simulation results for a number of bases of presentation of images are given.
