The article assesses the changes in the content of the firearms training with modern requirements to police officers’ professional competencies taken into account. The authors investigate interaction between the modern requirements to firearms training and to competition and professional results achieved by cadets of the educational institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.
