On the correlation of basic ideas of the concept of life education in China with the philosophy of Taoism

The article discusses the philosophical foundations and origins of the concept of “life education”, as well as the correlation of the ideas of life education with the traditional Chinese philosophy of Taoism reflected in the teachings of Lao Tzu and Zhuang Tzu. The ideas of “life education” in education sector of China has arisen comparatively recently and are aimed at ensuring a sustainable comprehensive harmonious development of the individual. The main task of “life education” is to instill the “understanding of life purpose and recognition of the value of any life”. In modern society, systematic education of respectful and responsible attitude to life in children and youth is of particular relevance. We have considered the main ideas of Taoism, which are relevant to life education - self-improvement, the desire for a simple and natural life, and also identified the key points of understanding human life in the philosophy of Taoism.
