On the correlation of revolutionary element and the political willpower to eliminate tsarist police during the February revolution of 1917

The article raises the issue of the correlation of spontaneous and political factors in the elimination of the tsarist police during the February revolution of 1917. There is the defining interpretation of the abolition of the tsarist police by the Provisional Government. The article author analyzes historical realities testifying to the attitude of society towards the police, as well as the forms of manifestation of revolutionary energy towards to one. The corresponding situation in a number of regions of Russia is understood. The topic of the pressure of revolutionary organizations on the emerging authorities in order to eliminate the existing police has been set in the article. There are provided evidences of a tolerant attitude of citizens to the police of the old regime, until bringing them to the service in a new environment. On the basis of analysis of data from places, the article author rejects the accusations of widespread revolutionary violence of police facilities in winter-spring of 1917.
