About the contemporary concept of development of information technologies in criminal prosecution (RITVUS)

This article is devoted to topical issues of the development of information technologies in criminal proceedings. The author draws attention to the need to develop and adopt a common concept that would take into account the main directions (needs) of modern science and allow to preserve the traditional values of the criminal process. It is alleged that in the digitalization of society, criminal proceedings will inevitably acquire a new look, including electronic document management, remote forms of investigative and judicial activities, the use of algorithms and mathematical calculations in the adoption of procedural decisions, the introduction of robotics. At the same time, such legal phenomena as justice, competition, the presumption of innocence, the assessment of evidence by the court on internal conviction, the establishment of the truth in a criminal case, and a comprehensive and full investigation of all the circumstances of the crime should remain unshakable.
