The article studies the development of religious and philosophical positions of the Mahayana Yogachar system. We trace the dynamics of early Buddhist concepts evolution. The originality of the Yogachara teachings is revealed in a comparative context, which consists in the synthesis of vaibhashikas’ abhidharmic traditions with soterio-logical positions of the Mahayana dialecticians, and the relevant reflection of ancient Indian Buddhist thinkers’ contribution. The article shows the development of provisions on the existence of external objects in the Mahayana system of Tibetan tradition in Buddhism. Based on the original source "Dubta chenpo" by Kunchen Jamian Shadpa Dorje, the study reveals the contribution of yogacharas to creation of a conceptual ground for developing the basic postulates of religious and philosophical Buddhist thought and deeper understanding of the ontological concepts subsequently proposed later by madhyamikas-prasangikas.
