About the owner’s record of the 17th century in a manuscript no. 382 from M. N. Tikhomirov’s collection (the life of Alexander Oshevenskiy)

The article describes sheet-by-sheet owner’s records dated by 1688 in the manuscript No. 382 from the M. N. Tikhomirov’s collection located at the State Public Scientific Technical Library of the Siberian branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (The Life of Alexander Oshevenskiy), that was made by a merchant from Kargopol town Ivan Andreyev Popov. It provides biographical details about Ivan who was firstly known for his charity activities in the late 17 th – first half of 18 th century (buidling churches in Kargopol county, buying church utensils, contributing money to monasteries, etc.) Special attention is given to manuscripts and printed books from I. A. Popov and his father's library. The purchase of the manuscript No. 382 by M. N. Tikhomirov is explained by his deep interest in the culture of Kargopolye.
