On the influence of William Faulkner’s literature on Mo Yan’s creative work

The article is devoted to the influence of famous American writer of the beginning of the XX century on the Chinese avant-garde writer Mo Yan (born 1955 year). The novel by William Faulkner «The Sound and the Fury» inspired Mo Yan on further fruitful artistic work. The combination of Chinese scenes and foreign.ideas makes it possible for Mo Yan to create a series of unique artistic environments and images in his novels: «Red Sorghum», «Garlic Ballads», «The Liquid Land», «41 Bombs» and others.
