On the issue of improving the personal security system of law enforcement staff

The article discusses the problems of personal security of law enforcement officers. The aspect of their training aimed at eliminating problems in ensuring personal safety is studied in detail. The authors investigate a system of techniques that will ensure the competent use of firearms. Also in this paper we are talking about risk factors that have a tremendous impact on law enforcement officers when they are in the performance of their official duties. At the same time, the article examines the psychological aspect and explores the reasons why law enforcement officers are often afraid of using firearms, even in cases where this measure is legal and justified. Summarizing the conducted research, the authors propose an approximate training program in the discipline «Personal security of law enforcement officers», training in which, in their opinion, is the primary stage in ensuring the personal safety of an employee in practice.
