The possibility of singing style reconstruction of Seto ethnic group (South-Eastern Estonia): results of the research and pedagogical experiment

It describes the results of pedagogical and academic experiment on teaching traditional singing to students. Musical material of the experiment is polyphonic folk songs of Seto ethnic group (south-eastern Estonia), which are based on half-tone and one and a half tone row. Acoustic pitch analysis of structure helps to compare the original recording and students performance. It discusses the possibilities and ways of auditory acquisition of archaic modus.
