About possibilities of change of retirement age in Russia

Ageing of the population and growing dependence of pension system on budget are pushing to revise pension legislation, including increase of retirement age. This article describes the reasons of necessity and desirability of such increase, as well as obstacles to this step. Demographic and socio-economic context of change of retirement age in Russia are analyzed. International experience is considered and on this basis are formulated recommendations on organization of possible increase of retirement age.
