Genre singularity of the artists’ diaries

By expanding the semantic scope of the concept of “Artist” the author, for the purposes of the study, compares writers’ and artists’ diaries due to the fact that both of the diary types have a common genre structure, development patterns and links with literary and art creativity. The article deals with the artist’s diary text in terms of its aesthetic value as a full-fledged literary work, which opens the possibility for comparnig it with the existing classification approaches that are relevant to the analysis of the writers’ diaries.
