The article attempts to substantiate and then propose to the scientific community a new translation of the personal name of one of the sons of Oguz Khan, born from his earthly wife, Gyok Khan. To this end, the Oguz-name lists compiled by Rashid-ad-Din, Abu-l-Ghazi, as well as the manuscript from the National Library of France (Paris) are subjected to comparative study. During the research, the texts "Oguz-name" were used with scientific forewords - introductory articles, published in different years by A.N. Kononov, A.M. Shcherbak, R.M. Shukurova and some other scientists. As a result of the comparative analysis, a new view is put forward, according to which the Russian lexical translation of the name Gyok Khan (one of the six sons of Oguz Khan) should be in the form of 'Green (earth)' / 'Soil'.
