The article is devoted to the studies of the Spirit Path as the essential part of the sepulchral architecture, the problems of its origin, structure and meaning. The data on the using of stone statues in the cultures on the neighboring territories along the boundaries of Chinese Empires were examined as the comparative materials. The ways laid down for further investigations of funeral complexes’ planigraphy in the region of Eastern and Central Asia during the Ancient and Medieval Ages.
