The paper deals with the most fundamental problems faced by philosophy while investigating the phenomenon of creativity as the most vivid manifestation of human nature. The study shows the possibilities of a systematic approach that integrates opposite approaches and principles of understanding the world: objectivity and subjectivity, conscious and unconscious, material and ideal, logic and intuition. The research considers the views of ancient (Plato), mediaeval (Thomas Aquinas), Russian and European philosophers (N. Berdyaev, B. Spinoza, I. Kant, S. Freud, C.G. Jung). The relevance of the study is determined by the desire to understand the nature of creativity at the current stage of human development. The focus is placed on the creation of artificial intelligence. Humanity is at a defining stage of its history today. In this context, the question of a possible future becomes more urgent and complex than ever. The author concludes that it is impossible to understand the causes and nature of changes without defining the nature of creativity as a practical embodiment of the human mind. Therefore, there is no way to predict mankind’s future and avoid global, irreversible mistakes without the philosophical understanding of problems.
