About interpolation of the gravitational field of the Earth

High-precision space objects trajectories prediction requires calculation of Earth’s gravitational force with high accuracy. The computation of the gravitational potential and its gradient could be the most time-consuming stage during integration the equations of motion. In this regard, the authors investigated the possibility of the Earth’s potential interpolation. Two types of interpolation were considered: tricubic spline and interpolation on Chebyshev - Lissajous nodes. The dependencies of inaccuracy and memory footprint of interpolant were investigated.
