The article discusses approaches to the implementation of the learner-centered teaching in modern schools. The paper focuses on the goal and problems of differentiated and adaptive approaches to teaching. The authors hypothesize that the indispensable prerequisite of the adaptive approach, in contrast to the differentiated one, is the possibility to change the training material in the course of educational process in accordance with the learning outcomes.
