About studies of food for general toxicity in the testing center of the FSBSI «FCTRBS-RRVI»

The general toxicity of feed is a mandatory safety indicator approved in the Russian Federation for most types of feed and feed additives. Studies on the general toxicity of feed received at the Testing Center (TC) of the Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution "FCTRBS-RRVI" are carried out by biotesting methods on protozoa (express method), on mice (acute experiment) and on rabbits (skin test) in accordance with GOST 31674-2012 " Feed, compound feed, compound feed raw materials. Methods for determination of general toxicity ". In the process of analyzing the received feed, two positive results were revealed in feed for fish, which showed toxicity, both in protozoa and on laboratory animals.
