The capacity of medieval north pontic amphorae

This paper publishes data from the studies of capacity characteristics ofPontic amphorae dating to the 8th-10th centuries. The task was addressed by using severalmethods, including one method with the use of software (Autodesk 3ds Max). Usingthe estimates and comparing the data obtained with the Byzantine volume units of differentsubstances, seven capacity standards of Pontic amphorae, which are multiple of Byzantinevolume units of wine, were singled out.
