About one method for detecting point groups, united by belonging to straight lines

The paper presents a new algorithm for finding straight line segments on the set of coordinates of the measured points. The developed method of adjacent points is a modification of the Hough’s transform to speed up calculations in an applied problem. The authors provide a detailed description of the algorithm. Thus, the method of adjacent points proposed by the authors is another of the many alternatives to the original Hough’s transform, but the undeniable advantage is its ease of implementation, both when using interpreted and compiled programming languages. The tool shows promising results for possible use in future nuclear physics data processing tasks.
