The paper presents results of rescue excavations in the central part of Rostovthe Great. Well preserved layers of the Peter I period were recorded in Rostov for the firsttime. The location and distinctive features of the finds enable the researchers to correlatethe structure with the Great Drinking House marked on the Rostov map of 1755.
