On participation of Russian clergy in people's volunteer corps during Napoleonic wars (based on Vyatka eparchy archive documents)

The designated subject has not been reflected in literature until now. The different number of priests taking part in people's volunteer corps was given in short anniversary and propaganda editions. It was told that the only motive for their participation had been their patriotism but their fates after demobilization had not been traced. Based on voluminous archive documents the more complete list of volunteers with fundamental data was made by the author. An attempt was made to reconstruct their motives to join troops, and brief description of their divine service and life after the war was briefly described.
