On taking into account the peculiarities of the method of unauthorized use of an object of intellectual property when calculating compensation for copyright infringement

The author considers ways to determine the amount of compensation for violation of copyright on intellectual property in the event of their unauthorized use by the violator. Analyzes a specific example from judicial practice in which an incorrect calculation of the amount of compensation for the illegal use of a photographic work was carried out. He comes to the conclusion that a competent approach of the appraiser to assessing the value of the rights to use intellectual property makes it possible to determine the fair amount of compensation for damage to the copyright holder of the object in case of violation of his exclusive copyright.
