The article considers the object of the crime under Article 229 of the Criminal code of the RF (theft of narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances) on the basis of the traditional concept of understanding the object of the crime as social relations. The author comes to the conclusion that the generic object of the crime under Article 229 of the Criminal code of the RF is public safety, species - part of public safety in the form of a state of protection of public health and public morality from criminal attacks. The direct object of the crime under Article 229 of the Criminal code of the RF is a part of public safety in the form of protection of public health from non-medical drug use. There is no additional object.In the case of forced drug theft, its main purpose is the health of the population, and optional - the health of the individual against whom violence is committed.In the theft of drugs by a special subject - a person who uses his official position (p. «b» part 2 of Article 229 of the Criminal code of the RF) - the optional object is represented by specific relations that ensure the normal functioning of individual state, municipal, commercial or other organizations in various fields of activity
