In the Russian Federation, there is a systematic reform of the system of law enforcement agencies. This is usually due to objective social needs, such as the emergence and elimination of internal and external threats to national security, the need to improve the effectiveness of some areas of law enforcement, and the emergence of new social relations and trends in their development. The dynamism of the law enforcement system plays an important role in the effectiveness of law enforcement activities. This is illustrated in the article by examining the example of law enforcement agencies that were abolished or separated in recent years: the Federal Tax Police Service (FTPS). In the course of the study, it was noted that the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation (FTPS) was abolished due to the effective implementation of the tasks assigned to this law enforcement agency, which remain relevant in the current modern context. Current trends in public relations indicate that there are numerous tasks that could be assigned to the FTPS for resolution.
