Religious sities of Bogorodsk City district of Moscow region as prospective tourism centers: Methodology and practice of assessment

The article presents the methodology and experience of numerical score of religious objects, the most promising for the development of religious tourism in the territory of Bogorodsky City district in Moscow Region. The study is focused on religious sites of Bogorodsky City District, primarily on methodology of their integrated assessment in order to determine the most priority and promising centers of religious tourism of the territory. In the course of fieldworks, the author have studied 85 religious sites that may be of interest of tourists traveling for religious purposes. Tourist attractiveness (attractiveness) of these objects is assessed by 3 groups (suitability, accessibility, significance) and 6 indicators. Based on this, the author have identified 20 of the most attractive for tourists religious sites of the Bogorodsky City District. The article also proposes the concepts of objects of tourist interest (3 museums) and 4 potential event events. The obtained results allow those interested in the religious tourism development in Bogorodsky City District to focus on the most interesting and attractive for tourists religious objects, and also to strengthen them by introducing the proposed additional museum and event attractions.
