The volumetric characteristics of the leg after lengthening in patients with achondroplasia

The data of the age changes in the volumetric characteristics of leg tissues in patients with achondroplasia before surgical treatment are given, the effect of lengthening on their further growth is revealed. The increase of the preoperative values of the total and relative volume of the leg is determined in the patients at the age of 11-14 years. It is established that when the amount of leg lengthening is 45-65 % of the leg initial length the relative volume of the segment (V/сm) doesn't change for certain depending on age.
