The authors investigated the age-specific changes in metabolism in pigs of the White Large breed during deficient mineral nutrition. The concentration of mineral matters, vitamins and microelements, protein and also immunological indices of animals blood were determined. It was shown, that in pigs of 8-9 month-old (period of formation of reproductive function) the derangement of phosphorus-calcium metabolism, decrease of zinc and copper concentration (30,3 and 14,2 %, respectively) and also E and A vitamins in blood were observed. The decrease of lysozyme activity and bactericidal action of blood serum at that period may be considered as weakening of humoral defense factors, but the increase of phagocytic activity - as their possible compensation.
