The renewal of the Russian fleet with combined river-sea navigation vessels

The article pays attention to the problems of the shipbuilding industry of inland waterways. It gives statistical analysis on the production volume and dynamics of the Russian shipbuilding industry for the recent years. For determination of variants of optimal use and development of transportations by new generation vessels the comparative analysis of technical and operational characteristics of combined river-sea navigation vessels of the new "Optimax" project and well known dry cargo vessels of "Volgo-Don Max" class project RSD59 type of "Pola Makaria" and project RSD49 type of "Neva Leader" is given. The article considers the main instruments and directions of state support in the shipbuilding industry. Attention is paid to the importance of planning role in renewal of the fleet: - dimensions of a combined river-sea navigation vessel during construction are set by track parameters; - a set of combined river-sea navigation vessel characteristics depends on the tasks which the shipowner plans to solve; - efficiency of ship operation is the most important parameter for financial recoupment of finances attracted for ship construction; - cost of the ship is an important parameter which influences the payback period of the project.
