The article discusses the innovative practice of substantiation and development of the module rating system of training and assessment of military higher school students’ progress in studies in the structure of pedagogical activity. The evaluation system is seen as a complex system of step-by-step evaluation of the level of curriculum mastering. The author examines the correlation of following concepts: a disciplinary module, a calendar module, midterm rating assessment, intermediate control, summative rating assessment. The paper stipulates conditions for successful functioning of the educational process model with application of modular technology of training, and defines the research methodology.
