The paper discusses need for seed treatment. It demonstrates feasibility of constructive and process variables of working bodies to get monodisperse aerosol in drum treaters. There is a technological solution (an atomizer) to split "primary" drops into "secondary" ones being up to 50 mcm in size that comply with the requirements of an atomizing monodisperse aerosol. A physical process of forming a "secondary" drop from the "primary" one is described; a mathematical expression to determine its diameter is derived. The size of the most liquid droplets that meets the requirements of the atomizing monodisperse aerosol is determined to be produced in seedbed preparation facilities in two steps: creating "primary" drops of 100-400 mcm in diameter by a hydraulic, mechanical or air sprayer; developing "secondary" drops of 50 mcm in diameter by splashing "primary" drops on a fixed restriction as the atomizer. Therein is a numerical implementation of "primary" drops’ movement and "secondary" drops’ formation after a stroke on a splitter in the air system of pre-sowing machinery in software application FlowVision, thus one can get integral and differential characteristics of aerosol flow (field of velocity and pressure, the size of aerosol drops, current lines and paths). To give grounds for the given characteristics modeling is conducted for different shapes of chambers to produce and transmit aerosol as well as different atomizers. To model aerosol development in the air-distribution spray box like a Venturi tube its dimensional characteristics are given where diameter DН and length LН. There is a calculation and proved constructive and process variables of an aerosol formation and transfer chamber: LН=0.35-0.55 m, DН=0.15 m. The developed model enables to calculate and improve a splitter design, geometric parameters of the aerosol formation and transfer chamber; their design values are as nearly as possible to the process conditions of facilities and enable to get the needed diameter of "secondary" drops (up to 50 mcm) from "primary" ones.
