The quality of wheat seeds which are sown at farms in Transbaikalia is of low-grade through the littering. Considerable part of admixture differs from the seeds of the principle crop by the length and it indicates on a low effectiveness of the process of grain sifting. The effectiveness of seeds’ cleaning by the length depends on the size of the cells and the position of working gutter’s selvage of sifting cylinder. Rational sizes of the cells of oats and puppet cylinders are based on research of the cleaning processes of seeds at a laboratory sift. It substantiates the procedure of the selection of the size of the cells of the trier cylinders of grain-cleaning machines. The size of cells is necessary to select multiple of the maximum length of short grains.
