Justification of parameters for a chirped pulse signal for the detection of small targets against passive clutter

A pressing issue in the field of radar is the timely detection of unauthorized flights of small unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), such as FPV drones, to prevent socially dangerous actions by malicious actors. From the perspective of active radar systems (ARS), it is necessary to have a probing signal (PS) that provides optimal resolution and energy efficiency. This study focuses on the optimal selection of PS parameters with intra-pulse linear frequency modulation (chirp) for detecting UAVs against the background of intense reflections from the underlying surface.
