Statement of the problem. The article analyzes the problems of adaptation of people with impaired health and their return to society through physical education. The main reasons that prevent people with impaired health from living a quality life, going in for physical culture, sports, taking into account their disease, especially oncology, are considered. Psychological and pedagogical support today is not just a sum of various methods of correctional and developmental work with a person whose health is weakened. It acts as a set of actions, a special culture of support and assistance in solving problems related with training and socialization. The purpose of the article is to substantiate the features of psychological and pedagogical support for people with impaired health, including cancer patients, contributing to their healthy lifestyle and prolonging active sports longevity. The carried out study focuses on the possibilities of improving the health of the declared group of people through practicing one of the health-improving sports. In particular, the presented approach is applied for psychological and pedagogical support of people with impaired health in the training process of swimming with a coach. Methodology (materials and methods). The research is based on systematization and analysis of theoretical and empirical data on psychological and pedagogical support of people with impaired health, including cancer patients, in the swimming training process. Research results. The study and application of psychological and pedagogical support for people with impaired health, including cancer patients, in the training process of swimming with a coach allowed us to get information about people’s behavior, about the actions they perform in certain situations, and how often they do it. With the help of the survey, we have obtained data on the views, assessments, goals, and motives of the respondents. Recording the results for several years and comparing them helped us to see the dynamics of the success of the swimming training process with a coach. The students became more confident in themselves and their abilities, the fear of illness was replaced by a sense of success at competitions, giving them the opportunity to open up and positively lead an active life, both social and sport-related. Conclusion. The approach proposed in the article and the use of psychological and pedagogical support for people with impaired health, especially cancer patients, in the training process of swimming with a coach suggests the continuation of the study and will be disclosed in subsequent publications. Training in a swimming pool with a trainer gives people with weakened health the opportunity to learn how to swim properly, and in the future, with a properly calculated load, a chance to recover, perhaps forever. After all, movement is life!
