This article discusses a variety of techniques for ensuring defect-free concreting of structural elements of tunnel structures and retaining walls of bridges. It studies the temperature regime of concrete hardening in retaining walls, taking into account the experience of hydraulic engineering construction. On the basis of the abovementioned example the authors show that if a certain number of conditions are met, the size of concreting blocks of this type of structures can be increased. The above-mentioned need is caused by ensuring the required deadlines for the construction of the structure on the one hand and meeting the criteria for ensuring their quality on the other hand. The paper presents the research done by the authors, demonstrating need to meet safety temperature difference between concrete mixture to be laid and substrate. It closes the issue of ensuring high consumer properties of all structures being erected.
