The article considers psychological peculiarities of sports activity in boxing. The author reveals the importance of perception in the course of training and competitive activity of boxers. He also shows theoretical and methodical necessity of development of perception among young boxers taking into account natural development of motive and intellectual potential according to entire human developmental system. The also takes into consideration mutual relationship and interdependence of intellectual, physical and cultural and moral development of a sportsman on the basis of both motive and intellectual activity in the course of sports training. The author examines the training process based on the principle of mental and physical unity.
