The essay reviews two monographs on Russia's reception in English literature: Lilia Khabibulina's «Myth of Russia in Contemporary English Literature» (2010) and Svetlana Korolyova's «Myth of Russia in British Culture and Literature (up to the 1920s)». It is shown that both monographs are characterized by wide scope of materials studied as well as by setting the most essential issues of modern imagology. The review reveals the ways the monographs deal with the aspects of national and foreign, cultural myths and artistic images, genesis and development of stereotypes and polemics with them.
