Image of a true tsar in the stories of time of troubles

The article describes the features of a true tsar according to the ideas of the old Russian scribes in the stories of the time of troubles. The basic features include vigorous activity, commitment to the sublime, right descent, holy way to power. The image of a true tsar is opposed to the image of a tsar-pretender and tyrant. The research of the texts of the time of troubles’ stories is based on the publication of the Russian historical library of 1909.
