The image of the celestial empire in American Hollywood cinema

The article is devoted to the study of the representation of the People's Republic of China in the cinema of the USA. The analysis of the films «Mulan» and «Interstellar» and their promotion in mass film distribution was made, as a result of which the conclusion was made about the ambiguity of the American position: on the one hand, it is the promotion of an already established stereotype about China, on the other - the creation of a product that satisfies the requests of the Chinese government.
